Workshop: Oocyte In Vitro Maturation, Montevideo 2024
The Centro de Esterilidad Montevideo and the Academic Unit of Histology and Embriology of UdelaR organized the first national course on Oocyte In vitro Maturation, in Montevideo - Uruguay, with the participation of experts in the area: Sergio Romero, Flor Sánchez, Johan Smitz.
This event was held on September 9 & 10, 2024, and included theoretical classes and hands-on sessions.
The purpose of the course was to learn about Oocyte In Vitro Maturation, a technique that is an alternative for fertility preservation in oncological patients, as well as a safe treatment option for some patient groups (e.g. patients with polycystic ovaries who are at risk of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome when subjected to conventional assisted reproduction treatments).
